Hermann Upmann was a merchant, a banker and cigar manufacturer who, along with his brother August, founded H. Upmann cigars in Cuba in 1844. One of the oldest cigar brands, their blends live on today under the watchful eye of Tabacalera de Garcia in the Dominican Republic. H.
